Working principle and function of the ventilator oxygen battery:
The ventilator oxygen battery, also known as an oxygen sensor, oxygen concentration sensor, or oxygen probe; the oxygen battery is generally located at the patient's inhalation end and between the air-oxygen mixture device [1]. The oxygen battery in the ventilator only performs final monitoring, using electrochemical principles, mainly for measuring the oxygen concentration of the mixed gas, and is not related to oxygen concentration control. The measurement range is 0% to 100%, and under constant pressure and constant temperature conditions, the voltage value generated by the oxygen battery is proportional to the oxygen concentration.
Judgment of oxygen battery failure and performance testing:
The judgment of oxygen battery failure can be directly observed from the oxygen concentration monitoring situation. When the measured oxygen concentration value deviates significantly from the set oxygen concentration value, the machine will issue an alarm prompt.
Oxygen battery usage time:
The output voltage of each oxygen battery is basically stable throughout its lifespan. Generally, the working lifespan of an oxygen battery is usually only one to two years, and high-quality ones can be used for three years or more. The lifespan of the oxygen battery will change due to the actual operating environment. For example, using it in a high-oxygen concentration or high-temperature environment will shorten its lifespan.
