The R2868 is a UVTRON UV on/off detector that utilizes the photoelectric effect of metals and the multiplication effect of gases. It has a narrow spectral sensitivity of 185 nm to 260 nm and is completely insensitive to visible light. Unlike semiconductor detectors, it does not require a visible cut-off filter, making it very convenient to use.
